Speaking and Media

Liz is an occupational therapist, speaker, and creator of The Untypical OT, known for her honest, down-to-earth work speaking style around burnout protection, event accessibility and inclusion, and parenting within additional needs families, alongside her love of podcasting as both a host and guest.

Combining professional expertise with lived experience, she brings practical insight, warmth, and realism to conversations that are often overlooked or oversimplified.

Liz regularly speaks on three core areas: burnout protection for parents, solopreneurs and small business owners; supporting families raising children with additional needs; and creating accessible, inclusive events that reduce nervous system stress for both attendees and organisers making sure the people you want in the room can be in the room.

Her talks blend clinical understanding with real-world experience, helping audiences move beyond “just be more resilient” and towards sustainable, human-centred approaches.

She has contributed to conferences, panels, podcasts, professional trainings and community spaces, creating conversations that help people feel seen, understood, and better equipped in their work and lives.

If you would like to collaborate, invite Liz to speak, or feature her in media or podcast conversations, please get in touch to discuss opportunities.

Articles

Liz occasionally contributes written articles and reflections, sharing insights from her clinical work, lived experience, and conversations within the community. As a dyslexic creator, writing is not her primary communication style, and she prefers speaking, podcasting, and live conversation as more natural and accessible ways to share her work. When she does write, her focus is on creating honest, meaningful pieces that support parents, professionals, and communities navigating burnout, accessibility, and additional needs family life.
