I help podcasters create shows that light them up, not burn them out.

Podcasting can look easy from the outside.

But once you’re in it, you quickly realise how much sits behind every episode. The planning, recording, editing, promoting… and the quiet voice in your head wondering if anyone is even listening.

It’s no wonder so many podcasts wobble in the early stages.

I created The Untypical Podcaster because I believe podcasting doesn’t have to follow someone else’s formula. Your podcast should work with you, not against you.

My approach is shaped by my background as an occupational therapist, which means I look at podcasting a little differently. Instead of focusing purely on growth or downloads, I help people build podcasts that are sustainable, meaningful and designed around how they work best.

I use a simple framework called The 5 C’s that hold a podcast up:

Clarity – Why your podcast exists and who it’s for
Concept – Shaping a show that works for your voice
Content – What you’re actually going to talk about
Consistency – Finding a rhythm you can sustain
Care – Looking after yourself so the podcast lasts

Because the truth is, the most successful podcasts aren’t always the loudest ones.

They’re the ones that keep going and stay true to themselves.

Through Podcast Direction Sessions, I sit down with podcasters or those that want to be podcasters, especially those who feel a little untypical, and help them untangle their ideas, steady the wobble, and design a podcast that works for them.

No hype.
No rigid formulas.

No hustle.

No being someone else.
Just useful conversations and a sustainable way forward that works with you not against you.

Because your podcast shouldn’t burn you out.

It should light you up.

Welcome to The Untypical Parent™ Podcast, a place for parents in neurodivergent, SEN and additional needs families. Here we talk about the messy and the sparkles, share ideas you can actually use, and give you space to take what might work and leave what doesn't.

Hosted by me, Liz Evans — The Untypical OT, a dyslexic, solo parent in a neurodiverse family, this show explores everything from parental burnout and sensory needs to dyslexia, ADHD, and chronic illness. You’ll hear from experts and parents alike, sharing tips and stories to help you create a family life that works for you, because every family is unique and there’s no one-size-fits-all solution when it comes to families.

If you’ve ever felt that “typical” parenting advice doesn’t fit your world, this is your place for connection, practical tools, and encouragement without the judgment.

Welcome to your backup team. We've been expecting you.
